The journey to create H’ARTISAN

Sarah and Nick have longed to create H’ARTISAN.

We eventually managed to acquire the freehold of the current property in 2018. Being “locals” and owning the freehold means we intend on being here for a while! The journey has been long but we hope that it has been worth the wait. We have endeavoured to curate a friendly, relaxed and warm community cafe in the heart of Wargrave On Thames.

Inspired to bring this community feel back to the high street, Sarah and Nick have combined the knowledge from their professional backgrounds to create H’ARTISAN. Sarah is a qualified nutritionist, and Nick has worked as an advisor to clients in the retail industry for 25 years, whilst their daughter Izzy has a passion for cooking and is also vegetarian, so it made perfect sense to pursue their dream of opening up a speciality coffee shop serving nutritious food right in the heart of Wargrave On Thames.

We have been on an exhaustive journey to find the highest quality suppliers that fit Sarah’s exacting nutritional standards and we hope that you will enjoy our menu. H’ARTISAN will also be an official RCC (Rapha Cycling Club) Partner Cafe – a community hub and meeting place for the RCC. With H’ARTISAN being ideally located en route to some of the best cycling roads in the country you are sure to find something on our menu to satisfy your pre-ride, mid-ride and post-ride cravings.

We regularly stop here whilst cycling through Wargrave. The coffee is perfect and there is always an amazing choice of cakes and pastries. They also have a fab bike storage room so makes it really easy to enjoy a hot drink and bite to eat whilst out on a ride.

Decent coffee, quite mild tasting. The chocolate on top was a bit overbearing, I’d ask for no chocolate next time.

Sausage wrap tasted good but was expensive for what it was, and wasn’t quite warmed through. Carrot cake was also nice, although a little dry.

It’s a nice place for a coffee, and there is a terrace area at the back, which is great for a sunny day. The staff were all very cheerful as well.

On the whole, a nice place for a coffee.

Great coffee and cake. Very welcoming to cyclists. Take the door on the right to hang up your bike in the wall.

Popped in here whilst out on the old bike. Great cafe... loads of indoor bike racks, so nice and secure... Nice bright and modern coffee shop... decent hot chocolate and a delicious cake. There's plenty of selection of both drinks and cakes and nice friendly service.

A jolly family run coffee shop that encourages cyclist as it has a bike rack room! Good coffee with nice sandwiches, and breakfasts.

My husband and I love H'ARTISAN. It is a beautiful café in the heart of the village and the garden is a lovely place to sit in the summer. The sausage wrap is a firm favorite and the doughnuts are yum! Last weekend I enjoyed the homemade quiche with lots of nutritious and colorful salads on the side, all of which were delicious! The staff are also always super friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend popping in!

Dropped in with the family for the first time on Saturday and had a delightful lunch. Food was excellent, the coffee was terrific too and the kids loved the cakes! Quick service by very helpful and friendly staff who were eager that we enjoyed the experience. We will be calling again!

What a great addition to Wargrave! Visited today the first time and was very impressed. Great selection of healthy food, not a boring usual selection. Brunch menu short but well selected, staff is super friendly. The manager made sure all table got enough attention. Truly impressed and will be back.

Very welcoming atmosphere and happy, smily staff. We didn’t have coffee as just had before, but the brunch was very delicious. I had a smash avocado with tomato salsa, salmon and eggs, which sounded too much at first, but it proved me wrong. One of the best brunch I ever had.
The manager visited all the tables and was very passionate about the food and the business.
Would recommend 💯! Wish you the best.

My first visit to H'Artisan this afternoon with a good friend. What a lovely place. A friendly welcome to spotless surroundings. Plenty of yummy cakes to choose from. We sat in the lovely garden enjoying our refreshments. I am looking forward to returning very soon.

Lovely cafe in Wargrave with a beautiful, peaceful, hidden garden at the back. My daughter and I had a delicious lunch here. A freshly toasted sandwich each, cappuccino and orange juice. Not cheap but great quality and worth it.

Absolutely fantastic, could not recommend this place more! Customer service has been outstanding both times when I have visited with my partner. We live in Reading, but this coffee shop is so worth travelling for. From the moment we walked through the door we have been met by very friendly, welcoming staff. Food is very delicious and portions are quite big, especially the salads! Coffees and cakes are amazing and delicious. It has a beautiful outside space and the shop is very clean. I worked on my laptop and I can also confirm that it is a very quiet little place, even when it’s busy! Customers in general are very respectful of others and staff members are very accommodating. I will definitely come back again! 🤍

Great tasting coffee. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to try the cakes but that gives me another reason to return. Keep up the great work. The bike room is an awesome feature 👌

Visited this lovely new cafe 2 times in the last week during my visit to the area. Very clean and friendly staff. Amazing food and coffee. Tom and his team are really passionate about their coffee and food even in busy times like Saturday. Truly amazing! Definitely recommend to visit.

Excellent place for a pit stop. We’ve visited numerous times over the past couple of weeks as been doing up a house in the area, and it’s always been good. Great coffee, great food and great service.
We live the other side of Henley to Wargrave and will still make journey to come back, past everything Henley has to offer.

Great stop for us cyclists.. Able to store our bikes inside (bike racks provided) Fab cakes and food in general. And a nice garden area with a few tables to sit outside out the back

Called in for takeaway coffee and pastries. Very friendly and welcoming.
They had a great selection of pastries so it was hard to choose. I opted for the maple pecan plait which was super yummy, fresh and crumbly. Also had a great flat white coffee.
We'll definitely be going back!
